Nuclear Waste Storage Containers

Nuclear Waste Storage Containers

Fritz is certified as a Level 3 Nuclear Facility. This means that our Quality Assurance program includes the proper procedures and protocol to supply products and services to the International Nuclear Industry.

Fritz has produced nuclear waste containers and high density insulating bricks, for Phase 1 of the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment project near Kincardine, Ontario.

There are a limited number of experienced nuclear services companies, and so Fritz is well poised to compete in this growing sector.

Wind Turbine Bases and Transformer Pads

Wind Turbine Base

One of The Fritz Group’s newest areas of expertise is concrete construction of wind turbines. Wind Generation is a growing industry, and there are a number of wind farms in construction or planned in Ontario. Currently wind accounts for 400 megawatts of capacity in Ontario and this is expected to triple to 1200 by 2025.

For the last four years, Fritz has been building wind turbine bases and transformer pads for a major developer and operator of low impact renewable-energy power plants. Watch for the giant wind turbines as you drive through Shelburne, Ontario. Concrete pours in excess of 500 cubic meters per base are common.
