About Fritz - Our History

From agriculture...

Precast Barn Building

Beginning 36 years ago, in the tiny hamlet of Chepstow, The Fritz Group started out forming and pouring concrete walls. Raised on a farm as one of 17 children, Tom Fritz started using his personal experience and expanded into building barns and sheds of all sizes and descriptions.

When he learned his neighbours needed feeders, slats, concrete walls and all manner of farm equipment, Tom decided to build a precast plant to make the job more efficient.

As Tom carried on farming, he was always looking for ways to make things better. He discovered great ways to improve the quality and develop the features of the Fritz line of feeders and slats.

Tom has based his business on best quality, fair price and on-time delivery. Only Fritz would accept the challenge of building a 7,200 square foot hog barn, start to finish in 9 working days. It had to be done as the pigs were arriving on the 11th day. The pigs arrived as scheduled and the barn was totally complete.

To commercial and industrial...

Fritz began to specialize in several lines of concrete products, including panels and floors for the construction of agricultural, commercial and industrial buildings. Today Fritz has over 30 years of experience in the design and building of modern modular type agricultural, commercial and industrial buildings including all aspects of the project from layout to completion of the entire building.

Commercial buildings

Our Precast division was established in the mid seventies and we are experts in forming and building all types of commercial Precast panels and components. We can also manufacture Wall Panels of Machine Rolled Rib Design, Exposed Aggregate, Acid Etched, Sandblast, and Brick Finish Exterior Using Precast components made in our own facility; Fritz has built the latest in controlled atmosphere storage for a local Apple Co-op adding several additions over the years. Fritz has also built large industrial buildings featuring both Butler pre-engineered steel structures and Precast, creating a wide range of exterior and interior wall panels.

The Fritz Group is at currently building a 24 unit residential Condo development primarily out of Precast. Making use of over 30 years of hands on knowledge we are using structural precast panels, speeding up the building process from start to finish by several months.

To nuclear and wind power

Wind Power

One of The Fritz Group’s newest initiatives is in WIND POWER ENERGY GENERATION (Green Energy) that is expanding in Ontario and across Canada. TFG has developed and poured a number of the transformer pads and bases for the giant wind turbines in Shelboune, Ontario. Concrete pours in excess of 500 cubic meters per base are common.

TFG produce concrete liners for stainless steel containers in which nuclear waste is stored and also manufactures high density insulating bricks for shielding the nuclear boilers for the reactors. TFG is expanding their product line to be providers of specialized, technology-based nuclear services.
